The KidSafe Prevention Program works to provides community members with the tools to keep children safe from abuse and neglect. Our prevention efforts include classroom visits, in-services and workshops that teach abuse prevention and personal safety to children, caregivers and professionals who work with children. KidSafe promotes prevention efforts by Andre’ Bosse Center and other community partners.

Some of the curriculum includes:

  • Bullying
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Personal Safety/Fire & other emergencies
  • Personal Safety/Body
  • Gun, Alcohol and Drug Safety

During the 2005-06 school year, Oceana County’s KidSafe Program reached 85% of Oceana 1st-2nd -3rd graders. Currently presentations are given upon request in Mason, Newaygo & Lake Counties. Upon securing funding, Andre’ Bosse Centers and our community partners will offer KidSafe type programming in all counties we serve

Mini Grants

Through out the year the Kidsafe Prevention Committee and Mason County Council to Prevent Child Abuse awards mini grants provided by Michigan's Children Trust Fund. Financial support is awarded to help fund innovative programs that address the issue of Child Abuse and Neglect within our communities.
